Mornings Without You

When I wake up with you on my mind I dream about where you are,

My body asks what it wants and for now it’s only a dream too. My mind sees the images like it’s here,

On top where your body weight covers me, anchors me and safe from harm

Inside where we are attached with a rhythm that only we can understand and uphold, a fit that only we know how to find

Over, draped like a duvet that covers us at night, a perfect fit of my shoulders inside yours

Skin to skin makes the magic, hearts beating but we don’t mind, we slow down and take our time, like we do on our scenic Sunday drives,

Interlaced fingers with white knuckles because letting go is not an option

The world around is quiet to our ears all we hear is us, our breathing, and our hearts.

The door of life is ajar, we keep peeking through but then hold back, sometimes we venture through but we keep a guide rope so we can find our way back

Let’s open that door wide, run through it, let go of what the world think life should be and make life what it ought to be

Leave the guide rope inside, and lets explore the new, the unknown and lets grow a path that guides us into that place where we find our cave of life with love,

Like wolves for life we make our tribe, just me and you

A cave with no door to hide behind, where interlaced fingers becomes the norm, with views over our life that makes us excited to love.
